Tonka 1954 #50 Steam Shovel

Description

Tonka cut their teeth with the steam shovel. First introduced in 1947, they were sold either alone or as part of the Low Boy sets.

This version would have been sold stand alone or with the #120-4 Tractor Carryall.

The cab rotates 360 degrees and the shovel is manipulated by the crank.

Note the side plates at the wheels…1954 was the only year in this color.
