Doepke made some of the greatest construction toys.
A lifelike replica of the real thing, this version of the Unit mobile clam has the thumbwheel which was only available on the first year model produced in 1949.
Two ratcheting winches…one raises the boom while the other winds the clam. The cab rotates 360 and the wheels can be turned by the tow bar.
The story goes that during the design phase of this toy, a fault was discovered in its real life counterpart.
There is some minor paint loss but for the most part, this toy is in excellent condition.
The clam bucket has been repainted and the string has been replaced.
Base is 11″ long x 7″ wide x 9″ to top of cab.
