Description

Truly unique in the history of toys, this (and its 6″ counterpart) were the only toys made by Druge Brothers Manufacturing of Oakland, CA.

Cast metal construction, this toy was an excellent replica of a real life Hyster M300H.

Originally invented by H. B. Ross in 1913 to transport lumber, the concept survives today and can be seen at most shipping ports for moving containers.

There were two makers of a toy version of the Straddle Carrier…Druge and Swan-Hill…but the Druge version was by far the most detailed.

The steering wheel turns all four wheels and the lever beside the seat raises and lowers the lumber stack.

What makes this even more special is the private label…”Merritt’s Building Headquarters”. I have only ever seen two private labels for this toy and both were Merritt.

Condition is superb with all parts working as new. The windshield and pallets/loads are replacements.

12″L x 9″H

Please note that my photos are up close and detailed…be sure to enlarge. I attempt to provide an accurate representation of the toy as it truly is. If you would like a particular photo of any aspect, do not hesitate to ask.

Shipping is $15 ($10 each additional toy) within U.S., $65 ($20 each additional toy) to Canada. Depending on final cost, I may refund difference, if any.
I also accept Venmo, personal checks and bank/money orders. Contact me if you would wish to pay this way.
