Description
Apparently this toy was dropped from the line by Doepke because it actually made cement!
The Charles WM. Doepke MFG.Co. Inc., Rossmoyne, Ohio made some of the best American construction toys between 1946 and 1959. Using “real” equipment as their inspiration, their cement mixer was based on the Jaeger mixer of the day.
Jaeger cement mixers were manufactured in Columbus, Ohio from 1920 through 1960. Thanks to toys like this, the history of US manufacturing dominance lives on.
This version of the Doepke Jaeger cement mixer is from 1947.
The drum rides on a chain which is driven by a crank. This one works as it it did when it was new…amazing considering its age. Water flows from the tank on top and the chute is raised and lowered by the crank.
There is minimal paint loss overall. The string and hose are not original.
All in all, a beautiful addition to any collection.
14″L x 10″H
