Gorgeous Doepke MG cast replica car from mid-fifties.
Charles W. Doepke Company, Inc. of Rossmoyne, Ohio made toys from 1946 through 1959. Just thirteen years and they made some of the best toys ever made in the US.
While most of their toys were construction related, they did make two automobile replicas…a Jaguar XK 120 and what they called an MT which was clearly a replica of the MG TD.
The MT was a replica of the MG TD which was introduced in 1950 and continued through 1953.
The Doepke brothers did a superb job in replicating this now classic car just a few years after its introduction and it remains one of the finest examples of automotive modelling.
The car originally came in kit form. This toy has been professionally painted with a superb finish.
