Description

Rare toy from the 1920s.
One of the many toy makers that once resided in Dayton, Ohio, Republic Tool Products Company made Republic Toys – Momentum Floor Toys.
Up to this time, there had been two primary toymakers in Dayton, Schieble and Clark. Two of Clarks’ employees, Charles Black and Elijah Miller started Republic. In 1921 Black was granted a patent for a flywheel toy that used a smaller flywheel along with other innovations. Black stopped making toys in 1931, sold Republic Tool in 1947 and died in 1970.

The friction does not work. The driver is present. The paint shows some loss.
